I have to be honest, I rarely used Venari Spellsmith in any battle. It has unique abilities, Dispel, which used to cancel effect of Inspire, Protect, Strengthen, and Swiftness. Since those abilities are rarely seen, make this ability rarely used in any battle (more so in low rank battle). To make it worst, dispel only applies to monster hit by it, which means the other 5 monster will still benefit from un-Dispel-ed effect. And the most difficult decision is to justify 4 mana for this card with just 2 health and 2 speed.
So this is not a heroic battle experience, but rather an unexpected fortunate battle. Battle Link
My lineup consist of Tarsa (Summoner), Scorch Fiend on front lines followed by Radiated Scorcher, Ant Mines, Venari Spellsmith, and lastly Tenyii Striker.
My opponent lineup consist of Kelya Frendul (Summoner), Albatros on front lines followed by Hardy Stonefish, Djinn Oshannus, and lasty Ice Pixie.
The foresight for this battle wasn't very good. Opponent's team boosted with +1 armor and +1 speed, while they have 2 magic user which could easily crumble my first 2 monster.
And when the battle begin, I already lost the initiative as both Pixie and Djinn annihilate my Venari. And then my Scorch Fiend and Tenyii launc a counterattack but to no avail, as both Pixie's and Albatross's Flying abilities divert the attack.
By Round 2, I already lost 1 monster while opponent monster left untouched. And then both team traded strike, which ended with Scorch Fiend and Albatross got eliminated. In addition Tenyii managed to destroy Pixie Armor. So by Round 3, both team back to 3 vs 3.
The tide start to turn when Ant Mines scavenge his fallen comrades to gain health buff. The addition health helped resist the damage done by Djinn . But the battle was yet to done. The Djinn have huge 10 health and a huge 6 speed.
So both team traded attack again until Round 8 where both team left with one monster each. A high gamble as Djinn always start the first attack. Tenyii got only 3 melee, while Djinn left with 4 health, meaning Tenyii have 2 chance to strike, and both must hit to win the fight.
It's a hit!! And here comes Round 9. Djinn strike left Tenyii in critical condition. And here comes Tenyii throwing his sword into Djinn tidal wave. It split the wave into two, and it fly right into the hearth of Djinn. The Djinn fall into the ground, with the wave dispersing into the air. And there I earn my victory.
It's a very fortunate battle. One missed attack and defeat is sure to come. Though Venari barely show its fang, it's sacrifice in the Round 1 has delayed the advance of opponent team. Giving chance for Tenyii to put the final strike.
