One thing is clear, irregardless of the corporate media coming from the United States of America, the message is clear, WE IN THIS TOGETHER. Its funny at times, watching President Trump take a blow at CNN while praising FOX. Its a game that comes with some political currency as "Fake News" is thrown at each other. But on the issue of Venezuela, WE STAND UNITED. Nonetheless, some American media personalities even at odd's with President Maduro took some time attack CNN after it reported headlines:
It comes as pressure is mounting on Maduro to step down, following elections in January in which voters chose opposition leader Juan Gauido over him for President
By the time the article starting circulating, the anti-CNN camp took to twitter and other social media platform to blast CNN accusing it of publishing fake news. What is surprising now, some within the Trump circle aren't happy with President Trump and his handling of Venezuela. They accuse the President of filling his Foreign Policy team with Neocons and embarrassing himself in Venezuela. Some are also calling for firing of John Bolton and his entire foreign policy team but others are pointing to the fact, Trump most likely has nothing to do with Venezuela but is going along with the narrative. CNN later removed the article:
What I find really interesting, President Maduro is gathering friends all over the world as the narrative painted about him fails to stand up to scrutiny. The media coverage of Venezuela and aggressive campaign of USA has actually strengthen Maduro hands globally. Even within the Caribbean where most countries maintain a non-interference approach, Gauido plans of IMF loans and privatization of assets did not gather much support as most of these islands themselves are trying to get the government finances out of the hands of the IMF. Some prominent thought leaders in the Caribbean are starting to channel the energy towards American sanctions against the Venezuela.
My warning to the American government, your policies are misguided and the merging of Venezuela and Cuba issues and trying to get the Caribbean to pick sides would result in your embarrassment. While the economic situation in Cuba is terrible, and abundance of wealth in USA, Caribbean government largely would vote for Cuba. These secondary sanctions against Cuba would only fuel anti-American sentiment in the region. Cuba has come to the rescue of many islands through the use of its health and engineering expertise. Cuba is also the place where most people who do not have the financial means send their children to study Medicine and Engineering for FREE. Trump anti-immigrant rhetoric isn't really going to help him gather support to achieve his foreign policy objective. China has quickly step in offer scholarship to Caribbean nationals to study at some of the most prestigious university there. An we know how this works, those scholars who come back home, certainly aren't coming with anti-China sentiment. Likewise, those who continue to defend US interest in the Caribbean, its always easy to find out where they got their education from, and all the groups they are members of.
I warn the America government your approach in Venezuela and Cuba would only weaken whatever you trying to achieve and would result is a total lost of influence in the region. Engage with President Maduro, you actually NEED him if you want to tap into Venezuela. Change your approach to Latin, Central and South America, you actually NEED them if you want to maintain your empire. Its time to think with your head, not with dictation with violence or proxy games, another empire is on the rise and its getting to a point where its to attractive to ignore. It blows my mind with the kind of rhetoric coming from American leaders about Latin, Central and South America about immigrants when your meddling for corporate greed has fuel the crisis. America actually need that resource rich region and the large labor market that they provide. Its common sense, its economic sense, the days of passing orders to others and making a killing in countries because leaders can't safeguard the country interest are over. Its time to set a plan, its time put up a comprehensive plan that is attractive to nations looking at the BRI, probably its time to take some of that 700 billion spent on defense and channel some money to get economy competitive again rather than dictating to others.
Anyway, these are just my thoughts, some random guy from the Caribbean watching geopolitics play out. I love the Chinese, I love the Russians and I love the Americans. What is quite evident, China would gladly tap into Venezuela and Russians would gladly tap in there as well. It makes economic sense, and given that BRI solidifies itself as a global order, providing the Chinese don't play the same game as the Americans, and consolidate their debt markets, the Chinese Yuan could be tapping on the greenback status. Venezuelans should always remember, your pain is temporary and even when one nation takes the route of financial blockade, your abundance of resources would be appreciated and justly rewarded by another empire on the rise.
