The Venezuelan government and the opposition have agreed to hold consultations in the coming days in Caracas to resume talks on Monday in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) in search of an agreement.
At the end of a new round of talks, Dominican President Danilo Medina has announced that the parties have signed "an act with the progress of the dialogue agenda", but that there are pending issues that should be discussed in Caracas, so They are going to give several days to return to the dialogue table in Santo Domingo, "tentatively" next Monday.
The existence of the act has been confirmed by both parties, but although the Government considers that it is a pre-agreement, the opposition has denied that it is a preliminary agreement and has insisted that there are still several issues on which to move forward.
"No pre-agreement has been signed here, the only thing that exists in black and white are those aspects in which there is progress," said the opposition spokesman in the dialogue, Julio Borges, a few minutes after the Minister of Communication of Venezuela, Jorge Rodríguez, will announce the pre-agreement.
For his part, Rodriguez has said that "only missing details, minimum elements" to achieve the agreement, which, he assured will be signed next Monday in Santo Domingo.
