It doesn't sound like you have a single friend in the group. Have you thought about spending your time working on your own goals and moving forward in life?

"Helping" vets is a noble gesture. Should you wish to continue to assist, I urge you to find more productive ways of accomplishing it. Preferably one where your actions are not impeded by ignorant or otherwise unhelpful people.

Also, on a side note, have you though about moving? Nobody should live in a place where hot, plastic-bottle water can taste awesome in the summer. I've lived in many places and the Vegas heat is the dumbest place I ever moved to. Almost any place cooler has been significantly more fun to live in. YMMV ;)
