A few weekends ago i decided to get back into nature and was hoping the nature would push some 'awe and wonder' into me to make me feel good - it did :) plus exploring is just good for the brain :)
This place most people drive under and have no idea it exists, it is so beautiful. Its about a half hour away from my house, in the Picton area.
Fun facts:
- Built from sandstone
- Built between 1863 and 1867
- Is 84 metres long, has five arches, the biggest measuring 30 metres
- Oldest viaduct still in use today in nsw
- Designer was John Whitton, the Engineer-in-Chief for Railways
- Current use: Carries the double track - Main South Railway
It was a great drive out, nice windy roads and lots of nature, and the viaduct was beautiful as always, cant wait to go back again. They even have signs to watch out for platypuses!!
