Since the project was initially going to be an SMT, and development would have taken a lot longer than we wanted, the team decided to go with a software fork. It was after careful consideration that we decided to cancel the steem airdrop, and reward direct supporters of the project by issuing crowdsale contributors a 50% bonus instead. We feel it was the best decision for the project and our supporters going forward.
