In this video I demonstrate just how easily a lock can be bypassed by anybody using a pen and a paperclip. Most locks work on very simple mechanical security principles that can easily be taken advantage of and manipulated by mal intended individuals.
The technical term for the technique used in the video is "raking". Raking in combination with "single-pinning" can be used by any beginner to bypass most locks. Simply put, locks really do just give us a false sense of security. If you wish to secure something, remember, you get what you pay for; don't buy cheap locks!
