Outside of Saturday night live, Tommy Boy was the first big comedy teaming Chris Farley and David Spade. Tommy Boy is the story of the heir to an auto parts company who must save the company from his stepmom and her “son“ who are trying to sell it out from under him. The big challenge for Tommy is that he is not very competent when it comes to business or salesmanship. Enter David Spade, his character’s name I am blanking on at the very moment. Comedic hijinks ensue.
The Good...
Chris Farley is very funny. He also has a lot of heart and there is a lot in his performance that is quite touching. He had a lot of potential and it’s unfortunate that we lost him so young.
Farley and Spade are a good team.
Rob Lowe makes a great comedic villain.
Julie Warner is great as the love interest.
The Not So Good...
I’m not a fan of Bo Derek and she was annoying here.
Worth checking out folks!
