We got to Puerto Vallarta after a long day of travel. We wanted nothing more than to eat and sleep ASAP.
We had a different Airbnb booked for just one night. The following night we were scheduled to be staying in this home (featured above and in the video below).
Our first Airbnb in Puerto Vallarta was a total bust! It took us two hours to find the place and our host was completely unhelpful. The address she gave us brought us to a friggen soccer field for goodness' sake!
We were trying to text her for help but we'd receive nonsensical responses. For instance, we were at a nearby gas station and we texted her (in both Spanish and English) how to get there from this gas station. She replied "Yes." Ugh.
Pretty sure she drank too many cervesas that night.
Anyway, we found the place quick after she finally sent us a pin with her home's location (two hours later).
Unfortunately, the place was completely misrepresented, it was gross, hadn't been cleaned, and had dirty blankets on the mattress, just to name a few things wrong with it. It'd be okay for a place to crash for a couple of dollars per night, but not the $17 we were paying!
We were desperate to get out of there!
We were asking around, desperately trying to find a new place for the night. We weren't getting anywhere but to our shock and amazement, our host from the following night's booking messaged us saying we could come over a day early!
We left immediately and headed over to the new place.
Our new host turned out to be amazing. And her home ... well, it was absolutely gorgeous! For 40 bucks a night, we had the top three floors all to ourselves!
We got lucky with this one! See the full video tour below.
