This picture is 100% natural glitch of the game. It happens when you try to get the game to work but it keeps messing up on you! This is a scramble glitch, others are a sort of fuzz picture glitch. You mess with the game until it looks normal.
When my brother and I played Mario 3 we noticed these kind of funny picture glitches quite often! Hey I just pulled out piece of paper towel out from the Nintendo from the 80's!
Something wild and scary happened to my brother and I messing with Super Mario 3 way back in the day trying to get it to work!! Instead of a scramble glitch or filter haze glitch it actually glitched and scrambled objects in the game!!! It was freaky and scary! There were random objects, enemies and pipes! If you go up one pipe it would freeze and make a scary noise, Go in another pipe and it would take you to a weird dimension!!
I have never ever heard of anyone doing the same object scramble glitch on Mario 3! I have never seen a youtube video of it ever! Who knows!? I may be able to replicate the object displacement Mario 3 glitch! If so I will record it. Even though the game would freeze in harsh glitch mode, you would reset it and it would stay like that awhile! I had the most surreal rush feeling whenever that happened. Sometimes Mario was in a black landscape with pipes everywhere and objects lodged and mixed up together. It was the most crazy glitch I have ever seen. 
I think that early glitch that gave me an eerie surreal feeling is what helped me get into glitch art today. My friend that makes glitch art and got me into it is also on steemit. But I don't know his alias. I encouraged him to get into steemit again! Ok so now I got the Nintendo hooked up! I have my original console and controllers and they work well! I sold all my games years ago but now I have the game Section Z! Has anyone heard of it!? I will make a video of some gameplay and tell a story behind it. My video game stories from the 80's and early 90's are pretty wild!! Helped me cope!
