Vietnam went from nothing to everything overnight as far as social distancing is concerned. A week ago we were sitting in bars an eating at restaurants and now we are barely allowed to leave our houses. People still mill about during the day and especially in the evening to get some exercise at the beach areas. Thus far the government has been tolerant of this and the only thing they do is play a warning in English and Vietnamese on the beach encouraging everyone to go home
One thing that is a bit silly in my mind is the completely shutdown of the beach.
I will comply of course because I have seen that populations around the world have a tendency to try to blame an outsider any time something goes wrong and with this virus, I believe it is a medical certainty that this country and all the other ones in the world are going to "get it" sooner or later.
Vietnam has been quite successful in preventing the virus - at least that is what they tell us. It has been 2 days in a row of no new cases but this just kind of makes me wonder... If they are successful in preventing Covid in this country, what next? Do we simply NEVER open the borders back up again?
In the meantime all of us are getting a bit stir crazy in our condos. I sneak over to my friends' rooftop for beers every night. Don't tell anyone.
I also walk around looking for street art to photograph and unfortunately most of it in Da Nang is pretty terrible.
This one is borderline, but since it is simply the old and tired "callsign" of the artist, I normally will consider almost all of these to be bad. At least it was put on the wall of an abandoned property and there are many others on the rest of the wall of this property.
I don't know exactly what it is called when someone tags a place just using words but for the most part I consider all of those to not be special just because it is so common, globally.
