A small village in the north of Bangladesh - its name is Charbilaspur. A small river flows through the village. There was an old wooden bridge on the river, through which the people of the village used to go to the market every day, go to school, even with the patient to go to the hospital.
The bridge was very old, made about twenty years ago. Despite being repaired many times, he could not bear it this time. One day after a sudden heavy rains, the river water was swollen. Suddenly one side of the bridge collapsed in the river.
The next morning, the people of the village rushed to the bridge. Some are crying, some are shocked. Little children, farmers, businessmen - all of the school -going children are in danger. Because the bridge was the life of the village.
One day later, Member Sahib called a meeting in the village. Everyone decided that it would make a bamboo sink like themselves until government support came. The youths of the village jumped in the work - some cut the bamboo, some brought the rope, some started to sit on the river and set the bamboo.
Within three days a temporary sink was created. Although small, that is now the trust of everyone in the village. Everyone understood - working together can overcome any danger.
One day the people from the upazila visited the bridge. They see the unity and hard work of the people of the village. Shortly afterwards, the construction of a new concrete bridge started with government initiative.
Six months later the new bridge stood at the base of the river - strong, beautiful, shining in the light. On the day of the inauguration, everyone in the village smiled, some eyes wiped with joy.
The member said:
"This bridge is not just on the river, but on our hearts. Because it has developed in the power of unity."
The kids ran over the bridge, the image of their laughter in the river water. Charbilaspur returned to his way, his life.
