NO NOT REAL PORN, ANTIQUE PORN! Lololol. Today at work I had an enquiry on antique desks and I had to take a few photos. Of course I got carried away and photoshopped the shit outta all of the images, teehee 😄😄
I decided to do a little post about them, they are both so beautiful, each so unique within their own genres.
First is this sweet little kneehole desk. It's quite small, about 70cm wide only. It's polished walnut with some hand laid inlay. For of those of you who don't know; an inlay is a piece of wood cut out in a pattern, and filled with another piece of wood, usually in a contrasting colour.
I love the little Art Deco inspired details on the small cabinet of the kneehole. Very cute!
The second desk is a little more manly, it's an old Naval officer's desk. Beautifully shone up Burmese teak, with a tooled leather top and polished brass joint connectors.
I'd love to do a proper English style library room with heavy carpets, this desk and loads of shelving full of leather bound books.
This desk probably dates to the early '30's, and was made somewhere in India.
I also posted it on to my work instagram - check out these cute little emojis I added
What's your style? Vintage? Antique? Don't Give a F*ck? Modern? Scandi? Let me know in the comments, I love to learn about other styles. I think you can learn a lot from other people's design interests
