We are in the "information age" Since the invention of the Computer. This final Age is accelerating faster then any of the previous ones.
- Stone Age ... The longest period of time
- Bronze Age ... approximately 3300 BC to 1200 BC
- Iron Age ... Over laps the Bronze age and continues to today but with less importance.
Between these main Ages are sub Ages.
Modern History ... Starting around 1760
- Industrial Age (1760─1970)
- Machine Age (1880–1945)
- Atomic Age (a.k.a. Nuclear Age)
- Space Age
And finally ... The ((INFORMATION AGE)) (1970–present) AGE of the COMPUTER
Why do I say this is the final Age? I am getting ahead of myself, lets keep going. The information Age started with the invention of the Computer back in 1953.
The IBM company started renting out their Model 701 Electronic Data Processing Machine to defense companies for $15,000 a month.
Computer Speed is the Key to the Information Age.
