DEATH and MADNESS CHOOSE ONE.
Once in a lecture room , a lecturer asked us to make a choice by distinguishing between Death and mental illness. I believe death means end of life itself and majority choose mental illness. According to him it is better to die than to be mad. Honestly I never agreed with him and took up a challenge to find out why he said that. He gave us time to study the life of a mad person and then we will consider our decisions. Hmm this was amazing. I researched a bit and deemed it not relevant to my life. Four years down the line after completion college the Challenge still ringed in my ears. This pic I took myself got me thinking.

Honestly I was amazed that this man drinks from this gutter which is not an ordinary one but from the sewage. According to witness he has done this for almost 5years and nothing has happened to him. He is actually mentally ill and has been neglected by the family. What a life. Before I could recall what my lecturer said, I shouted "I will prefer death to madness " now I became fully aware of why he gave us that answer. In some advanced countries they are kept in homes and taken care off but in Africa here we allow them to roam and it is an eyesore when you look at the filthy life they live.
