Few days ago it was my 36th Birthday so i was craving a nice treat and lots of it;) I didn't want a birthday cake i wanted something different for whole family. So here they are, the most delicious home made waffles i have ever tasted and you are very lucky that i am sharing this recipe right now :-)
Ingredients:
4 egg whites
4 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 and 3/4 cup sparkling water ( don't be tempted substituting with tap water)
3 cups plain flour
1/4 tsp salt
1tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Method:
1.In large deep bowl using electric mixer beat the egg whites till stiff peak.
2.In separate bowl beat the egg yolks with sugar for about 5 min.
3.Add oil and sparkling water to the egg yolk mixture and mix for another 2 min ,add plain flour, baking powder, vanilla extract and salt. Mix for another minute or until smooth mixture.
- Add the egg whites and mix slowly until nicely combined (Use just a large spoon for this step).
- Bake according to instructions provided with your waffle maker. It takes 7 minutes in mine (1300w).
They are crispy, soft, little sweet with nice flavor and even freeze well for those late night cravings for another day.
I like to eat those just with jam and cream but my husband like to take it further so he eats his with ice cream :)
I have tried many recipes for waffles and this one is a keeper!
Enjoy!
