HERE ARE 5 REASONS WHY PEOPLE FAIL TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS.
1. LACK OF PLANNING.
You might be wondering, who starts a business without a plan? But surprisingly, what most people do isn't planning. There is what is actually called 'Business Planning' which involves the 'SWOT and MOST' analysis. SWOT stands for Stregnth, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat, while MOST here, stands for Mission, Objective, Strategy and Tactics. Actual business planning is very important before starting any business.
2. LACK OF FINANCE.
This is also part of business planning where you examine how ready you are to start your business. Before you start up your business, you should not just have the capital to start but you should also have several months of cash saved up which can sustain your business overtime just incase you are dealing with customers who are slow payers or you run into cash flow situations which is rife in business.
3. POOR MANAGEMENT.
A business with poor management soon runs into a lot problems like decrease in profits and reduced employee productivity. A good manager should be able to solve problems, should be able to lead people, should be able to plan, organize and manage people. You must not have a Ph.D in management but you should at least posses some of these basic business management skills.
4. INABILITY TO COMMUNICATE YOUR BUSINESS.
Every business deals with people called custormers or consumers who have a wide array of preferences and choices. For you to be successful with your business and beat your competitors, you must know how to communicate your business and convince people to buy what you selling. You should posess a good communication skill 'cause if you don't, people won't buy your product and your business will eventually collapse.
5. BELIEVING YOU CAN DO EVERYTHING YOURSELF.
Managing a business comes with a lot of responsibilities which as an individual you may not be capable of performing alone especially if it's a big business. Since it's not really possible that you can possess all the skills necessary to take care of a business, you should know when to delegate some of your responsibilities to surbodinates or experts in those areas.
This last part of this post kind of summaries everything because right from start, we have been talking about everything a business owner must do to prevent a business from failing which is quite enormous but the good news is that you don't have to do all this by yourself or possess all those skills required. Rather with adequate finance, you can afford capable employees.
