Ingredients
🧄 1 block firm tofu
🌿 Handful mint
🌿 Handful parsley
🧅 2 spring onions
🌶️ 1 green or red chili
🌶️ 1 tsp chili flakes,
🍅 1 tbsp red pepper/tomato paste
🌿 1 tsp cumin
🌶️ 1 tsp paprika
🧂 1 tsp salt
🌾 1/4 cup flour
🫒 Olive oil, for frying
Instructions
1- Prepare Ingredients:
- Finely chop the mint, parsley, and spring onion.
- Set aside.
2- Crumble Tofu:
- In a large mixing bowl, crumble 1 block of Veggy Tofu by hand.
3- Add Herbs and Onions:
- Add the chopped herbs and onions to the tofu crumbles.
4- Incorporate Spices:
- Add 1 tsp chili flakes, 1 tbsp red pepper/tomato paste, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp paprika, and 1 tsp salt to the mixture.
5- Add Flour:
- Add 1/4 cup of flour to the mixture to act as a binder.
6- Mix Thoroughly:
- Mix all the ingredients thoroughly by hand until you achieve a cohesive mixture.
7- Shape Köftes:
- Form the mixture into elongated patties or rugby ball shapes.
8- Heat Oil:
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
9- Fry Köftes:
- Fry the shaped köftes in the hot pan for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crisp.
10- Serve:
- Remove from the pan and serve hot.
