Ingredients
🥣 1/2 cup Oats
🥛 1 cup Milk or Soy Milk or Water
🍎 1 large Apple, grated
🌿 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon, Schwartz
🍯 Honey, a generous drizzle
🧂 A pinch of Sea Salt
🌰 1-2 tablespoons Pecan Nuts, toasted
Instructions
1- Prep the Ingredients:
- Measure 1/2 cup of oats and pour them into your small enamel saucepan.
2- Add the Liquid:
- Pour in 1 cup of milk or your chosen liquid using the same measuring glass.
3- Heat the Mixture:
- Place the saucepan on a medium-high heat on your gas hob.
- Watch as the mixture comes to a boil.
4- Reduce the Heat & Season:
- Once boiling, lower the heat to a gentle simmer.
- Add a pinch of sea salt and stir continuously with your light blue silicone spatula to ensure the porridge does not stick and remains creamy.
5- Cook the Porridge:
- Allow the mixture to cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring frequently until the oats are tender and the porridge is thick and creamy.
- Turn off the heat.
6- Grate the Apple:
- While the porridge rests, grate one large apple using your stainless steel box grater.
- Mix half of the grated apple into the porridge.
7- Add Flavors:
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of Schwartz ground cinnamon and a generous drizzle of honey into the porridge.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
8- Serve:
- Using a serving spoon, scoop the porridge into a blue ceramic serving bowl.
9- Garnish:
- Top the porridge with the remaining grated apple, an extra pinch of cinnamon, and a drizzle of honey.
