For those spontaneous sweet cravings, this recipe has become my go-to. In my kitchen escapade today, I crafted Chhannar Sandesh with just a few ingredients: milk, sugar, a mix of aromatic spices, milk powder, and a touch of flour. I promise, this indulgent treat will win you over in no time.
Ingredients
🥛 2 liters full cream milk
🍋 2 tablespoons vinegar combined with 4 tablespoons water
🍯 1 cup sugar
🥛 ½ cup full cream milk
🌿 Cardamom
🌿 Bay leaf
🌿 Cinnamon
🥛 ½ to 1 cup Nido milk powder
Instructions
1- Prepare the Chhanna (Paneer):
- Boil 2 liters of milk.
- Combine vinegar with water.
- Add the vinegar mixture to the boiling milk to curdle it.
- Strain the chhanna using a fine cloth and press it under a weight to remove excess water.
2- Caramelize the Sugar:
- Caramelize 1 cup of sugar over low heat.
- Ensure the sugar doesn't burn by stirring occasionally.
3- Combine Ingredients:
- Add ½ cup of milk to the caramelized sugar.
- Include cardamom, bay leaf, and cinnamon.
- Integrate the prepared chhanna and mix thoroughly.
4- Thicken and Shape:
- Stir in ½ cup to 1 cup of milk powder for desired consistency.
- Spread the mixture on a plate and shape as desired.
- Refrigerate for 1-2 hours to set.
