Good Morning! #walkwithme through Kroger , our local grocery stor before a “the big storm”.
I’ve heard that KY gets some snow but come on, I’m from Denver how bad can it be??
Ok I think this is super comical & probably a little more than it shouldn’t be!
As I mentioned in my introduce yourself post I’m originally from Colorado, where we get our fair share of snow & cold weather. Its not abnormal to get 3 or 4 or more feet of it in one snow fall . We moved last year to KY so we were here last winter , I’ve had been told that it was the warmest winter they have had in a long time! I just roll my eyes when someone says that because they don’t know what a snow storm really is. Lol
Yesterday afternoon it was 60* & sunny , quite beautiful if u ask me. We went on a nice drive in the country. Not a great pic but u get my drift, it’s nice out.
Well let me tell you, the news has been saying we are going to be getting an ice storm with about 3” of snow. Me being from Colorado , I’m like ok no biggie we will just hang at the homestead for a few days, get some flurries, it will be cold, Kids will be in school, no big deal..
So I decided to go to the grocery store last night to pick up a couple things like bread, milk , eggs & maybe a couple snacks so I won’t have to go out the next couple days due to the “in-climate” weather we are suppose to have for the next 2 days.. then it’s gonna warm up..
I walk into the store & these people
are freaking out! The lines are backed up into some of the isles. Lines are a good 15 min wait! I couldn’t believe it !
Like u would think we are about to have about 20 ft of snow come down and DEVOUR our little town! NO joke! The shelves were EMPTY of all of the essential stuff, u know like ....
Bread...
Soups & peanut butter..
Fruits & vegetables like potatoes onions & bananas..
Meats, cheese , luncheon meats..
Eggs & butter..
This just blows my mind! I’ve never seen anything like this. In Colorado if we got 5ft of snow all the kids were glued to the tv’s in hopes that school will be closed, anything less forget about it! But NOoo we gotta get up and make the track through all that snow to get the kids to school!
Yesterday while out on that drive in the beautiful 60* weather we got a message on our phone saying that schools were already canceled due to the weather we may be having?
This is a pic this morning a cold 29* windy morning @ 8:15am.. The calm before the storm?
Hopefully it’s not as bad as everyone thinks it’s going to be! But we are hunkered down ready for what ever this storm brings us! Keep warm & stay safe KY!
