I came here in February for a day hike and loved it so much I had to go back
This time I had someone to enjoy it with. Enter Zack Collingwood💪 (yes ladies, he's single!!!)
We got here just before nightfall, and were very lucky to get a spot at the campground
It was very quiet and peaceful at night there. Everyone really kept noise to a minimum. The night was warm and the skies were cloud covered. Not many stars could be seen. The wind unleashed its fury during the night for over an hour! I was real surprised the tent stayed intact. You could hear the winds just before they would rush in and jolt the tent around violently.
It became a familiar sound that you knew when you heard it a gust was coming in!
Sunrise 🌞 Time for a hike
The natives were doing their thing. They didnt mind all the people coming around
This one wanted a closer look at me. I decided its best to not mess with the horns, and slowly made my exit
The desert was springing to life
This lil fella let me get real close. There is no way you could catch him tho...he's way too fast
White Domes Trail
You can stick to the main trail, or freelance on your own. We did a little of both. Doesnt seem to matter where you turn, there is always something new around the corner
Vast arrays of color
There's a reason this place is called Valley of Fire. By noon it was 90F and it felt hotter. There was just enough wind to keep it from being uncomfortable. This time of year its nothing really. Come here in August and 110F temps are not unheard of!
Thanks for coming on this walk with me!
