One of the most oppressive government there is today is North Korea. It is ruled by a totalitarian government, a communist state where everything is controlled by the government from what you will eat to your religious freedom. If you defy a simple rule like watching a DVD, then you and possibly your family will be sent to prison, labor camps, or even to death by execution if not tortured first.
The only good in North Korea is to be a member of the elite where your family will be well-fed and well-sheltered and get the privilege of living in the capital which is restricted to get accessed by a common citizen. The people are ordered to worship even the deceased father and grand father of the current leader Kim Jong Un and with a corresponding punishment if you disobey.
Life is hard in North Korea that many die of starvation because foods are being rationed. The children are most affected due to almost non-existing health care for them because all services are prioritized to the elite and the soldiers. Some people just resorted to cannibalism and gathering barks to eat because a simple farming is illegal, it must be approved first by the state before can be done in which a common citizen cannot do.
Some people just tries to flee and escape the brutal government in North Korea. They just do that by bribing the border guards just to let them turn their head away or connive with the guards to help them escape usually with success as money can do much everything if it has a lot of value for such situation.
Now we see a looming war ahead. It may be a good one simply because it would free a lot of people from the most unimaginable situation that we can think of being done to North Koreans by their government. It might also be a bad thing to South Koreans because the people in North Korea is so brainwashed, they do not know which is a reality, the bad, and the good anymore because they had been fed with propaganda all their lives and integrating them to the south Koreans could only makes things complicated for both set of people.
The war might be more destructive that it will seem to be because my country is an ally to the US, we can be at North korea's crosshairs and one big bomb can wipe a third of my country just like that. We can just all pray to save us all from the folly of the the few and it seems that even if we try to live in peace, the road for it must be paved with blood and destruction which is a case that should never be.
