During my journey through half of Germany to get to the airport in Frankfurt, I noticed a lot of military at the individual stops of the German railroad. Just in the current situation I have made myself there special thoughts. In the media and through acquaintances I have noticed that our German armed forces are not looking so great. In the past years probably more and more savings were made. As it is known that there is a war going on in Ukraine, I thought about it when I saw German soldiers in uniform at the train station again and again. What will be their goal? Will we, Germany still send units to help in Ukraine? Will we also notice any more action on Putin's part? Will war be declared on us soon?
As is well known, I was born in 1988 and have not noticed anything about war so far. Also the wars in Afghanistan etc. were always very far away and the media hardly reported about it. Now the war stands however straight so to say before the door with our neighbors. I do not want to go into the current events, they are terrible and do not need to be spread further.
When I saw the soldier at the station in Kassel, my thoughts raced through my head as to what his destination might be. Will he already fight at the front in Ukraine next week or will he defend the German country or the European Union in some way? Will everything be alright and will he come back home to his family next week?
Thoughts after thoughts buzzed in my head as I continued my journey towards Frankfurt airport. Unfortunately, not a day goes by without the most despicable news coming in from Ukraine.
Bei meiner Reise durch das halbe Deutschland um zum Flughafen nach Frankfurt zu kommen, ist mir besonders viel Militär an den einzelnen Haltestationen der deutschen Bahn aufgefallen. Gerade in der aktuellen Situation habe ich mir da besondere Gedanken gemacht. In den Medien und durch Bekannte habe ich mitbekommen, das es sich bei unserer deutschen Bundeswehr gar nicht so toll aussieht. In den vergangenen Jahren wurde wohl immer mehr eingespart. Da bekanntlich gerade in der Ukraine Krieg herrscht, machte ich mir so meine Gedanken, als ich immer wieder deutsche Bundeswehr Soldaten in Uniform am Bahnhof sehe. Was wird wohl deren Ziel sein? Werden wir, Deutschland doch noch Einheiten zur Hilfe in die Ukraine senden? Werden wir ebenfalls Maßnahmen seitens Putins merken? Wird uns bald der Krieg erklärt.
Bekanntlich bin ich Baujahr 1988 und habe vom Krieg bisher nichts mitbekommen. Auch die Kriege in Afghanistan etc. waren immer sehr weit Weg und die Medien haben kaum darüber berichtet. Nun steht der Krieg aber gerade soszusagen vor der Tür bei unseren Nachbarn. Ich möchte garnicht groß auf die aktuellen Geschehnisse eingehen, diese sind schrecklich und müssen nicht weiter verbreitet werden.
Als ich den Soldaten am Bahnhof in Kassel gesehen habe, schnellten mir die Gedanken durch den Kopf, was wohl sein Ziel ist. Wird er nächste Woche schon an der Front in der Ukraine kämpfen oder wird er das deutsche Land bzw. die Europäische Union in irgendeiner Art und Weise verteidigen? Wird alles gut und wird er nächste Woche wieder zurück nach Hause kommen zu seiner Familie?
Gedanken um Gedanken schwirrten im Kopf, als ich meine Reise Richtung Frankfurt Flughafen fortsetzete. Es vergeht leider aktuell kein Tag an dem verabscheulichste Meldunge aus der Ukrainie reinkommen.
I hope that the war in Ukraine will end soon and I pray for the victims and for the people who are worried about their loved ones at the front.
