New Cards, New Interactions, and A Lot Learned
The Conspiracy Theory TCG continues to evolve as we move deeper into Pre-Alpha testing, and each session brings new clarity to the gameplay loop, card interactions, and overall flow of combat. Even at this early stage, the game is starting to show its personality—sometimes chaotic, sometimes strategic, always entertaining.
Our latest playtest explored expanded deck size, additional Personalities, and support cards interacting with Locations and Vehicles/Weapons. A snapshot from today’s run shows Billy Ray Vance taking the lead, supported by the Taco Hell Location before delivering a massive hit to the Shadow Agent boss. Even in this rough testing environment, the synergy feels great.
But the real insight came from observing how the enemy responded. The Shadow Agent fired back with a stability attack and triggered Collateral Damage, destroying one of the support cards in play. This back-and-forth effect gave us exactly the type of tension we wanted to test—players building momentum while the enemy finds ways to destabilize your board.
🧪 What We Tested in This Update
Today’s session focused on a few areas:
Expanded deck logic (testing a 77-card pool for stress conditions)
Attachment interactions — weapons, vehicles, and how they stack onto Personalities
Boss retaliations and stability swings
Turn flow improvements
Drawing + hand management tweaks
We also ran multiple test scenarios to check how the game handles losing support cards on the field, ensuring the logic remains stable even when several attachments and effects are active at once.
🎴 The Game Is Starting to Feel Alive
The best part of this update?
Even without final mechanics, keywords, or mission systems revealed, the core gameplay is already showing signs of depth. The choices you make—what to attach, when to attack, whether to risk a weak turn—actually matter. And that’s exactly what we want at this stage of development.
🔧 What’s Coming Next
Here’s what’s being refined for upcoming Pre-Alpha builds:
Better support-card recovery & cooldown logic
More precise boss behavior patterns
Additional early cards being added for testing
Expanded UI clarity for actions & triggers
Improved balance for ATK/DEF values
First internal pass at ability keywords (not public yet 😉)
We’re still keeping the big secrets redacted until the official Alpha ruleset is finalized, but every test brings us closer.
