Whenever I say the weather affects the way I feel, some people disagree with me saying it's all in my head. This makes me wonder if I am one of a few who is so sensitive to all the changes in atmospheric pressure and changes in the weather. No matter what some may think, I know for sure it is not just me!
We all feel "blue" or down when it's raining outside, we want to cuddle on a couch and stay home, instead of dancing in the rain. Isn't?! The weather does in fact affects how we feel. According to statistics 9 out of 10 people experience negative emotions during rains, and feel somewhat depressed or sad.
In the cities with high levels of rainy days, there is a higher frequency of people being depressed and taking anti-depressants, and even suicide rate is higher in such places. This is apparently attributable to insufficient amount of sunlight and vitamin D deficiency.
Because it is raining here today, I am likewise feeling "blue" and lazy. Luckily, I am not working today and can afford to be lazy and do nothing, just cuddle on a couch and watch movies, sipping my coffee and eating dark chocolate.
Life is good even in the rainy season!
