Are we sometimes blunt stupid and ignorant for the stuff that we even say ourselves, not learning anything out of out of lesson?

Yeah we all know winter was on the way. Predictions were saying tons of snow in the weekend throughout the Alps. Now the thing is, I live in a border area where the mountains end. So honestly often when you look at rain of snow predictions, they do not apply for the city of Lucerne in general. You see humidity often bounces again mountain walls keeping it in the mountains.
So when I woke up today the weather was grey, and yeah yesterday it DID rain a lot. But went to a goodbye party from a friend more into the mountains, I did not link the fact that:
A: Because it is higher of altitude it will be colder
B: Because it is colder the percipitation will be fallen as snow
White roofs all of a sudden!!
And with those white roofs also a cutting ice wind that was literally chilling me to the bone while waiting at the local trainstation there. See I left Lucerne in an okay 10 degrees (while 3 days ago I was biking in without a jacket even), but here it was around 0 and super windy. BRRRRRRR
Guess who was not properly dressed for that? Yours truly ofcourse ;)
