Our mainstream media in the USA is a farce. The way they are covering the Florida water crisis is a reflection of the institutional intermarriages which are happening at all levels of government and commerce.
In the instance of the Florida water crisis we see the sugar industry as the major polluter of Lake Okeechobee. The pollution being dumped by the sugar industry has been a source of nitrates in the water which feeds the algae blooms.
There is absolutely no doubt that the current die off happening on the west coast of Florida is due to the pollutants being dumped into the waterways by big sugar along with other modern agriculture and industry. This fact is largely ignored by the media. The fact that red tides naturally occur has been the cover that mainstream media has given to the sugar industry as huge numbers of sea animals die. The red tide narrative is convincing because there really has never been adequate reporting on the causes of algae blooms. Again because of the ties between media and industry the facts which led to the largest die off of sea creatures in modern history is obscured by deceptive reporting.
The example I site here is from The Weather Channel. They are reporting on the water as if the red tide was caused naturally, which red tide does occur in nature. So they are being accurate in that sense. The deceptive part is where they seem to suggest that the current fish die off in Florida is naturally occuring and caused by red tide.
In this screenshot from their report I highlighted the section which seems to be misleading.

I wish we had honest media which could be trusted, instead what we have is state sponsored reporting dressed up as nonprofits, who in fact are acting as corporate stooges for the wealthiest people on the planet, and not in the public’s interest.
If you would like to find good and trust worthy reporting from Florida, find John G. Heim on facebook and look at his post about Florida Water.
