Good afternoon to all the #wednesdaywalk-ers.
Don't know how the weather is by you,but here in Upstate NY, it sure feels like summer. Hit a high of 81 degrees with lots of sunshine. Bless the gods, I love the heat.
Took a nice stroll to the gardens, over the river and through the woods I went. Always prepared with my basket, scissors and camera started to check out what could be had. With the weather cooperating, our fresh produce has had more time to ripen then is usually the case.
Most of the time, we harvest the last of our tomatoes green, due to the cold that comes in at night. We then wrap the green ones in news paper, put them in a dark closet and pull them out after they ripen. One year, we were still getting ripe red tomatoes in late November.
But this year, looks like they may all ripen on the vine.
We have had an exceptional growing season this year. Lots of peppers, string beans and squash.
In fact to our surprise, we are still producing zucchini, as well as yellow squash, which are really summer squashes.
But it's the flowers that I truly enjoy. The zinnias and sunflowers are really beautiful this year.
Some of them just reach up to the heavens
A big shout out to for hosting this fun event.
May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back...An Irish Blessing to all !
