It's been a busy month. Among other things, I've moved classrooms and have a new view. It's pretty nice; I like being able to see the change of seasons from up here as spring has given way to summer and riot of color becomes a moving canvas of green-on-green.
You'd never believe that if you just turned around, 180 degrees from this view, you'd be on the edge of a very full and very busy parking lot.
My favorite photos are still the same, only the colors have changed. Last fall, this tree stood over a blanket of fallen leaves. Now, the leaves have been cleared and tree itself is full of leaves.
The flowers are not completely gone. The gardens that front campus still have plenty of reds and whites dotting the hedgerows. (And I still can't even think the word "hedgerow" without hearing Robert Plant's voice in my head - "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now. It's just a spring clean for the May Queen...")
But not every change is welcome. The little fairy cottage hidden at the back of campus has been cleared away so that the stump could be treated against termites and other creepy-crawlies. But at least they left the stairs; some other fairies can move in anytime they like.
Thanks for reading.
