My nature Wednesday Walk is through the forest that is on the property.
This path I’m taking today winds between the birch trees.
The first thing i come upon is an anthill. I’m always amazed at how big these thing are build. As long as the ants stay in the forest I am happy. There has been a few anthills closer to the house that had to be eliminated.
June is a beautiful month here on the Island. The Spring Goddess has waved her wand and awakened the the beauty in nature.
The deciduous trees are coming into full foliage and the flowers are blooming.
Star flowers on the forest floor
Hidden in the forest near the spruce trees is the Provincial Flower of Prince Edward Island, the Pink Lady Slipper.
As I go back towards the house, I see the pin cherry bushes are blooming.
I’m not the only one out for a Wednesday Walk. Coming around the back of the house I see a small raccoon. He took off like a shot when he saw me.
Racy might be a good name for the little critter. I have more photos to post of him for another time.
