You know how some people will tell you that they didn't get high the first time they smoked... Those people are idiots. They didn't do it right or they smoked tobacco. As a consumer for many years and even remembering the days that a quarter was 20 bucks I can definitely put my two cents in a good head to head of smoking vs eating.
Smoking
To some of us it's an every once in a while kind of thing, to others it's the first thing you do in the morning. I go from both ends of the spectrum depending on my mood, but I can't deny that a nice rolled joint is one of my favorite ways to relax and kick back. It's so perfect, when you are by the river or at a BBQ in the back yard. It's just amazing. With recent innovations and popularization even smoking has become more and more differentiated. You can do blunts, or you can heat up a nail and take a dab. You can even smoke from something that plugs into your computer like a vape pen!! How awesome is that? Smoking is social. You go to a party and someone brought a joint, you know that person will be your friend even if you never met them before. It's a way to make friends and have something in common with them... The love of trees :)
Eating
Everybody, and I mean everybody is familiar with the infamous pot brownie. But this is the 21st Century. You can now get a drink, a granola bar or even a mint that will get you very very fucked up. Go to your local dispensary (or go to Colorado) and your mind will be blown. You like muffins? There's weed in that. You like chocolates? There is weed in that. You like coffee? No problem. It's amazing how far edibles have come. 60% of newbies try edibles these days. It's discrete and it gets the job done, sometimes even a bit of an overkill. It's also a bit healthier since you don't get any smoke in your lungs. But when the chocolate calls for 1/10th of the bar and you eat the whole thing you can quickly regret eating it. lol
The Verdict
I drift from one to the other. The last few months I've only had edibles. I cook them myself so I know how strong they are and I enjoy them as a part of my diet. I have salad dressings and granola bars that I use and I have lots of fun. It's sometimes kind of slow to kick in but if you keep eating them every few hours you feel great the whole day. On the other hand, when someone comes over, I bust out the bud. I can't sit there and wait for 2 hours before it kicks in. And it's much more social to pass something around than to eat one brownie and tell the other person to be careful ;)
