"And just on the topic of influence...Thank you to @ dandays for the inspiration for this weeks topic; Bro, your influence has influenced me to do a post about influencers who have influenced others."
Under the Influence...
I would like to thank all of the alcohol producers that influenced me from a tender young age.
The 30 Pack...
Let me start with The alcohol that first influenced me at WAY TO EARLY of an age. I was influenced All thru my teenage years by Strohs Beer, that nasty rot gut beer that just the smell of today makes me wanna throw up.
I also would like to thank a few more influencers. Anheuser-Busch Breweries, and move along to Jack Daniels, Jim Beam and a special shout out to the Tequila makers at Cuervo!
Thank You to Jose Cuervo and the all night puke marathon it induced. My 21st birthday surprise party was...
Surprise...
Just a few blurred memories...
Memories of bear hugging my older brothers 1979 Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am steer tire, wretching for hours, and trying desperately not to fly off the rapidly spinning rock we call planet earth. I could literally feel this planets rotation. That memory is crystal clear! But the party... Not so much. They tell me fun was had by all... Except for me.
I still wretch immediately at the smell of tequila, cocktail sauce, and horse radish.
So... Thanks Jose Cuervo!!
Honorable Mention...
Boones Farm $2 Wine.
Ahhh... The 80's.
I must thank Boones Farm Wine for all the awesome influence it had in loosening the clothing of many a young lady early on in my life.
The Silver Bullet...
I must give The Coors Brewing Co. Credit for influencing my cat.
Even Sammi Jo likes Coors Light, here she is pictured with a frosty cold green Coors on St.Paddys Day a few years back...
Michelob Ultra is "influencing" my fridge right now. 12 bottles that rarely get drank.
At around the age of 29, I took control of the influence that alcohol had over the first half of my life. From the influence of my alcoholic parents that brought me into this world. To the influence of a family full of drunken idiots.
Alcohol is not an influence it is a choice, and when done in moderation, the influence it has can be a really fun time. The person who influenced me into alcoholism at an early age is my older brother, who is sadly still a functioning alcoholic. I chose to remove him and the negative influence he had on my life many years ago.
The Curse...
The influence of alcohol and alcoholism is a curse, an addiction, a mental illness that has taken a few of my friends and family away from me. This post is meant to show the irony of that in a sarcastic way. Many have suffered from the influence of alcohol. Me being one of those people. I apologize if this post offends.
Alcohol is an influence that I no longer choose.
Some are not strong enough to make that choice for themselves.
If someone needs help to fight this influence, it can be found here.
