Today was a work day. I was asked to film some content for a deli called Sal Charcuterie. They have a seasonal giant charcuterie board that is delivered to your doorstep for 10 to 12 people.
They want people to get an idea of how big it is because you loose reference of the size when it's only the board on camera, but look at the pictures! it's 1KG of charcuterie plus 500g of cheese. If you have someone making it, on the other hand, you can compare the size of the hands to the board, so that's what we did.
This is what the board looks like:
To make the video, I set up a couple of cameras:
- One directly on top
- One making a vertical shot in front
For the tight shots, I used a Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens and for the wider shots I used a 24-70mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens.
For cameras, I used a Sony FX30 Cinema and a regular Sony a6000.
This is the making of the charcuterie board in vertical format for social media. I have a horizontal version too, but this one is a little more finished:
After I finished recording the charcuterie board, I wanted to get some footage of the deli itself, so I went around with my gimbal recording everything from the space, to the products, to the decorations. For these shots I used a Sony FX30 mounted on a Ronin M2 gimbal. I switched between Sigma 30mm and 24-70mm f/3.5-5.6
This second video is not finished yet, but I wanted to share some of what I got so you could get the idea.
Let me know what you think. Does it look delicious?
I'd love to read some feedback on my work.
Thanks!
