I mentioned in my first post when I introduced myself, that I was studying in Novi Sad. As the year at the faculty ended on May 31, I rarely go to Novi Sad during the summer. It usually happens when I take exams and am under a lot of stress. So, I used this weekend to enjoy it with my boyfriend.
Since I still don't have a car, I usually travel by train. It is comfortable, cheap and and trains run regularly and often which is the most important thing for me as a student. My one-way ticket costs $ 2.2 (220 RSD). From Odžaci to Novi Sad I need an hour by train. I decided to travel on Saturday by train at 10am. The weather was beautiful, it was sunny but not so warm because a light wind was blowing. The temperature was around 25 degrees Celsius, IDEAL. 🚉💺
Odžaci railway station
I wanted to study for an hour during the trip, but since I only slept 4 hours before the trip, my concentration was weak. So I decided to take photos with my phone. 📷
Since Vojvodina is a plain with 2 island mountains, all you can see through the train window are the fields where wheat, sunflower and corn are mostly grown. For someone who doesn't live in an area like this, this can be a truly beautiful landscape. Therefore, it is typical for the inhabitants of Vojvodina to be mainly engaged in agriculture. 🌾🌻
Do you see that blue line on the horizon?
Oh, it is Fruška gora, one of the two mountains in Vojvodina. Part of the mountain Fruška gora was declared a national park in 1960 and is one of the 5 national parks in Serbia. A small part of this mountain enters the territory of the neighboring Croatian state. The highest peak of this mountain is Crveni Čot (Red Chot) with a height of 539m. This mountain is located 20-30 minutes drive, that is, from Novi Sad or about 20 kilometers.
During the journey from Odžaci to Novi Sad, the train stops at 6 stations (Ratkovo, Parage, Gajdobra, Bački Maglić, Petrovac-Gložan, Futog), and Novi Sad is the seventh station. Some of the trains have to stop in Gajdobra in order to miss the train from the opposite direction. Ah, I must admit that it is an unnecessary waste of time. In Gajdobra we wait for half an hour to continue the journey further.
To kill time, I photographed the train interior and my ticket.
Luckily, our trains reach a maximum of 60km per hour so you can take such beautiful photos hahaha :D
After arriving in Novi Sad, I waited for my city bus for about 10 minutes and enjoyed the light wind. That’s when these photos were taken.
Novi Sad has a really well-developed public transport network, and the price of a ticket for one ride on a city bus is $ 0.65.
It took me about 7 minutes to take the city bus to my boyfriend's building. During those two days, I didn't take photos. I wanted to use every moment with him because I hadn't seen him for more than 10 days. I hope you don't mind me forgetting to take a few photos of the city during our walk. We spent time watching our men's basketball team in the qualifying tournament for the Olympics. Unfortunately, our guys will not fight for a medal at this year's Olympics. In addition, we went for a walk, watched various videos on Youtube, ordered food from delivery, etc.
On Sunday night, we thought about what we could watch. We got on Netflix and decided to watch a horror movie. I liked the idea, considering that I used to love watching horror movies and the last one I watched was almost 5 years ago.
We chose the first part of The Conjuring. I have to admit that I really liked the movie and we will definitely watch the next part next time. If you haven’t watched the movie, and you love horror movies, I recommend it to you. 👻👺📽
Around 3:10 pm I waited for my city bus to take me to the train station. Along the way, I took the last photo of Žeželj's bridge.
I have to tell you I enjoyed it this weekend. In a couple of days, I will return to Novi Sad again (because of less beautiful things - exams), so there will be more nice posts from Novi Sad.
Now I have a couple of days of serious study, so I hope that after the exam I will go to Fruška gora with my boyfriend because I have wanted to for a long time.
I wish you a successful week as much as myself.
