Thursday evenings being the start of the weekend I always like to step out of home and spend time outdoors. I wanted to go for a drive and spend some time out of home. We decided to eat something out only and then go for a drive. The option was if to go on the mountains or by sea side, and eventually we selected none and decided to go for a drive towards the outer city limits where the Sultan's Palace is there.
What I love about this place is that sometimes you feel you have all the place for yourself. Less population, more open spaces really makes it very energetic.
The Sultan has multiple palaces in the Country, he does not live in this one. This one is for his guests. One of my friend works in the maintenance team of this Palace and he tells us, that from inside it's very royal. Everything is gold plated inside, include the bathroom fittings. No one is allowed to visit inside the Palace. You can only see from the outside. Nevertheless if they open it for tourist I am sure they will have good amount of Revenue from it. Even if part of it is opened up like the other Palaces worldwide, it would be worth it.
Anyone who comes to my City for a holiday I get them to this place, specially at night time as the place looks good with lights. But still it is sober and there is not much show on the outside. Outside they have made nice gardens. The courtyard is big with well trimmed Trees

The other good things to see in this Country are the Mosque. Each one of them have Islamic architecture with ornamental designs and with the lights they all the more look attractive. You are not allowed entry in most of the Mosque. Just a few where you can visit and those are some amazing ones, like the Grand Mosque of Oman. It's a masterpiece.
As I always say Oman is a very beautiful Country. If you are looking for a short holiday towards the end of this year then Oman is a good choice. The best time to visit the Country is between November and March. The climate is perfect and there are many things happening all around in the Country, so you will enjoy this place.
