Nope not berry, very good, I mean of course. Using berry was just a convenient way to tie in the image of a strawberry I took a couple days ago right before I ate it and a whole bunch of its buddies topped with a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream.
Not berry very good
I'm not feeling very good this Wednesday because I've had to return to work at the office as the stay-at-home lockdown order has been lifted. The government said it was a seven-day lockdown and seven days it was. Bummer. It's good that they contained the potential outbreak and have opened things up a little, shops and all, but I really enjoyed getting paid my salary to stay home and work. I did very little work by the way, as if you needed to be told that little bit of information.
I spent a bit of time on the phone to my team over the week staying connected and all which I think they appreciated; they were working at home too although I think there wasn't a lot of work going on in their households either. I didn't make an issue of it of course, as long as the basics got done. I'll find out later today when I review their last week's work exactly what was done, and then the beatings may begin.
Here's what I did.
Reading
I finished the first book in the Riftwar Saga by Raymond E. Feist and began the second. It was nice to spend hours reading, my cat Cleo snuggled on my lap or beside me sleeping and the only movement required was to get a fresh pot of tea or snacks. I don't often get the chance to do that much these days so I really enjoyed it. I've powered through the books too so decided to order some more. I love ordering books and the expectation of the packages turning up. Reading and me just sort of go together like whiskey and ice.
Photography
I spent some time getting a few macro shots of various things in the last few days. I'm no photographer of course so everything is a bit hit and miss to be honest although I got a few reasonable shots.
I don't have lighting equipment so have to improvise with torches and lamps which can be quite comical; as is me trying to muddle my way through camera settings to get a decent image. I'll not own up to how many bad ones it takes to get a single good one though. Lots should cover it! I have fun though and that's what counts.
I also did some photographs of shadows using various items which mostly came out ok; you'll see a few when I get around to using them in a post now and then. Overall I had a good time messing around with the camera a little.
Olympic Games
I spent a little bit of time watching some of the sports at the Tokyo Olympic Games which is something I wouldn't usually do as usually as I can't stand the commentary that goes with it. Still, I watched swimming, water polo, hockey, gymnastics, K1 Slalom, softball, mountain biking, rugby seven's, beach volleyball, rowing and the road racing (push bikes) which I get into a bit sometimes. The Aussies did good and bad as expected but I was content just zoning out on the couch relaxing.
The only downside was that I initially started to watch the opening ceremony but soon realised it was absolutely terrible and went to back to reading my book. I actually prefer the winter Olympics but didn't mind watching some of the sports and I think I'll watch some of the track and field coming up also.
Other various things
Over the last week I've done a few other things, hive of course, hiking, sleeping and I even made scones which I ate with strawberry jam and cream. I make pretty good scones y'all. Oh cool, there's another strawberry reference to validate my image choice! I generally had a good seven days off and whilst the weather wasn't very good mostly and the lockdown meant I couldn't venture far I kept busy inside and designed my life the way I wanted it to look.
I wasn't looking forward to coming back into the office today but it was inevitable and to be honest I've dealt with it reasonably well - No one has been beaten yet, that's right, not even so much as a casual whipping, so I must be doing well!
I hope y'all are doing well no matter where in the world you are; hopefully you're living life as best you can and chasing your goals...Or sitting around letting life float by you. Either way I hope you're well. Let me know about what you're up to in the comments below.
