A little cheat sheet to remind me of the calories I will be consuming.
Carbs such as bread, pasta, and rice have the same about of calories as lean meat of the same size. For example, skinless chicken breast and a slice of bread both have about 100 calories. And bread is mostly air and sugar.
Eat 1-3 servings of vegetables a day. A serving of the leafy kind is barely 50 calories and should be a pile on a big plate. Cooked leafy greens shrink to a mere 10 percent of it's former glory.
Meat the size of a deck of cards is about 100 calories. Same goes with fruit.
Don't go crazy with the calorie counting. Eat healthy and remember to enjoy the one night you go out to eat with friends and family.
