When Assange got arrested so many so-called "journalists" jumped on the bandwagon to attack and make fun of him. They were all too gleeful at his arrest. And they made sure to degrade him as not being worthy of anyone attention or demands for his rights, as they denounced him as a non-journalist and needing to face the "justice" of his non-crimes.
There is a nice list from fair.org that points out many of the articles written in the past week. Here are some of the worse for your perusal. They range from saying Assange is no hero, no journalist, is a narcissist, deserve what's coming to him, deserve no sympathy, and how we looks like a demented gnome.
The big outfits like the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal even had pieces written by their "Editorial boards". That's how high up it goes in their media crap hole.
The Washington Post
Julian Assange is not a free-press hero. And he is long overdue for personal accountability.
Wall Street Journal
Accountability for Assange

You take in that narcissist Julian Assange to stick it to the Yanks . . . and suddenly it all goes wrong

Julian Assange, arrested for damaging leaks, claims to be a journalist
The mainstream media are falling over themselves to trash Julian Assange and WikiLeaks. They can't stand the respect being garnered for him and his organization, who have done what they failed to do: publish the truth.
Chelsea Manning had offered the same Iraq War logs to media outlets like the Washington Post and New York Times, but WikiLeaks was the only organization who published them. The mainstream media is reveling in mocking the man who made them look like servants to the political elite. They wouldn't know what real journalism is or what a real free press is about if it hit them in the head.
In recent news on the WikiLeaks hunt and crackdown, Ecuador is after the former foreign minister Ricardo Patino who they say was "instigating" revolts against the government:
"The attorney general’s office began a criminal process against Ricardo Patino for the alleged crime of instigation. [Patino] had given a speech in which he instigated people to take over public institutions and close roads."
Patino has scorned the Ecuadorian govenrment for what they have done to Assange. He was part of the former government with president Rafael Correa who was pro-Assange and granted the asylum and citizenship. Patino called the revoking of the asylum a "betrayal" that brings "worldwide shame"
The government is also trying to tie him to the Swedish programmer Ola Bini who was arrested on the same day as Assange because of ties to WikiLeaks. They have asked Interpol to issue a red notice on Patino in order to get him arrested as a fugitive from "justice" and be extradited to Ecuador.
Patino has been in the wind since Wednesday as he let Ecuador, probably seeing how he would soon become a target of political corruption. The government of Lenin Moreno and this inner circle of elites are getting their revenge on their opponents, and using this as a way to create a smokescreen for the corrupt activities.
