Wikileaks has raised over $55,000 through their GoFundMe drive which was started on November 27, 2018. This money was raised for one purpose: "to sue the Guardian for publishing entirely fabricated story 'Manafort held secret talks with Assange in Ecuadorian embassy'".
With enough money raised, WikiLeaks announced earlier this week that they will be pursuing their plan to file a lawsuit against the British newspaper company.
"WikiLeaks fund to sue the Guardian for publishing fabricated front page stories has hit $50,000. Thanks to all 1270 donors so far. Legal action will now commence (but more is required to complete)."
Does The Guardian even deserve to be called that? Maybe a tabloid would be more fitting considering the fabricated stories they publish.
A newspaper should care about it's integrity to represent reality and facts, not made up fake-news garbage like the Assange-Manafort fantasy. This fictional story tried to link Assange and WikiLeaks as co-conspirators with other bogus fake-news claims of Russia hacking the U.S election to get Donal Trump the presidency.
This is all part of a media psyop. The Western media is pursuing a Russiagate narrative, that acts as if it's a "fact" that Russia hacked the U.S. electoral process, and was working with or for Trump to do so. Russia was even accused of paying for Facebook advertising to influence voters.
It turns out that Russia money spent a miserable sum of 2-4 thousand (I forget and can't find the link) on ads at the time. Hardly a meaningful effort to influence anyone at that price. Many of the media claims that have been hyped up have been shown to be false.
Manafort never went to London on the days The Guardian hit=piece claimed. There is no proof that the meeting ever took place. But proof doesn't matter. With Manafort in jail, suggesting a link between the jail bird, Assange and Russia spins well for the media who pushed the Russiagate nonsense.
Fabricating a claim about a former Trump campaign employee having "secret" meetings with the "un-American" WikiLeaks to get "evil" Russians to hack the poor innocent Democrats and rig the U.S. election, is too juicy. Sadly, many Americans fall for the gossip.
WikiLeaks has gotten the ball rolling on legal action but they still need more funds to complete the process. The total being sought for funding is $300,000. After the first week, over $30,000 was raised. It seems in the past 6 weeks that things have slowed down. Hopefully some more deep pockets donate some money out for a good cause in the near future.
Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.
