This is one of my favorite frogs!
The Wood Frog (Rana sylvatica) is a crazy-cool little frog. I think that I may like them most because of their raccoon-like mask over their eyes.
Like so many other frogs, the Wood Frog is a harmless little bug-eater that plays a crucial role in the ecosystem. Unfortunately, these amphibians are some of the first to disappear when an ecosystem becomes polluted. Since amphibians like frogs have such permeable skin, they can easily soak up chemical and other pollutants.
Reaching a maximum size of less than three inches, these brown or tan frogs can be found in North American from Alaska and Canada all the way to the North Eastern United States. For more info on this wild creature, check out the video below.
