I watched it for nearly an hour this evening and it was really interesting to see how it flared in spots and grew. As it crested and went to the backside, there was a big glow. It was almost beautiful, until I think about the poor animals that had to run.
It is still 20 miles away so it is not an immediate threat to homes. With wind in the forecast tomorrow, we will see how things progress. At this point, it has burned 2,000 acres and it is only 5% contained. There is a ground crew working on it as well as helicopters and planes dropping retardant.
Tomorrow, I might drive to where I can get better photos.
