Today, I´m featuring my 7th floral arrangement using a ceramic vase I found at the flea market at a laughable price and just a fraction of a cost. It was almost a give away for the price of 0.20 Euro Cents.
Onobrychis viciaifolia.... is the latin name of of these wildflowers I found in the area of an empty plot near our home. Sainfoin is a plant with stout and hollow stems and belongs to the legumes family.
It is extremely palatable and nutritious and are used as feed for livestocks or the wildlife. It is also very winter hardy and an extremely pollinator species so that in the middle part of Spring, they begin to show up everywhere in open fields.
Used as hay and feed , its legumes are well consumed by horses and other animals because they give so much energy needed to withstand the hard winter. Nowadays, they are not cultivated that much though... because the horses or other field-plowing animals are replaced by tractors.
Thank you for visiting and reading my wildflower feature for today and I do hope you like it. If you like my post, a follow / comment / Upvote / or a resteem will be highly appreciated... Thanks for your support !
