It was raining this morning when I woke up and stopped around 11am but the sun came out for a little while, making it an ideal time to go and catch some of those pretty yellow flowers that only bloom in the morning and are difficult to photograph in the normally harsh midday sun. I have posted about these species before but I'm a sucker for yellow, so you get to see new pictures.
One or other species of Hypoxis, maybe obtusa. Solitary bee hard at work collecting pollen
Miniature morning glory
Some busy little beetles eating everlasting flowers
Thanks to the rain, it's all looking very lush and green out there, as it does for 2-3 months of the year. All the underground stems are very busy filling up with water and nutrients to get them through the dry months.
