The Wimbledon women's final is underway and I am going for Halep at 2.50. It's battle of the grunters, who can scream the loudest as they hit the ball Nadal style but who will be the one screaming for joy after best of three sets? Well whilst Williams has more power and the better serve, Halep has far better court coverage, defensive skills and dogged determination. I think that will see her over the line vs Serena.

As I watch writing this Halep has just broken within the first game of the match but then again Women's matches are notoriously volatile on serve and percentage wise contains far more breaks of serve than the men's game so there's nothing much to read into that yet.
Perhaps an eye opening statistic is that Williams has won their past five meetings including this year at the Australian Open 2-1. In total head to head, Williams leads it 9-2. But today watch Halep frustrate Williams, absorb her power and use it against her, possibly winning over three sets. I took her odds of 2.50 just as the match started.
This tournament Halep has looked unbeatable from the back. She destroyed the number 8th seed Svitolina 6-3, 6-1 in her last match, I don't expect quiet a dominant display here but I do believe she will catch Williams off guard early.
