Now I know this isn't new news. I found this information over a year ago and wanted to see where AGI and their wind turbines where at, if their claims where true and where they could be purchased in North America.
So what is the company that I'm referring too?
Avant Garde Innovations (AGI), a clean energy startup, has developed a wind turbine that promises to bring down the cost of small wind power plants by three quarters, making them affordable for households and promising near maintenance free service for years. Based in India, the company claims its low-cost invention can generate 3−5 kWh of electricity per day and operates in very low wind speeds all in turbine the size of a ceiling fan.
I did a search for AGI and truthfully, I couldn't find any new information other than a contact email and phone number for India. Their website says that the AVATAR-1 will launch 1st quarter 2018. So perhaps, I looked for it too soon.
So how much is 3-5 kWh? Well, your typical fridge uses around 1 kWh a day. A 6-GPU Mining Rig uses around 18 KwH per day, depending on settings and hardware of course. So now the question remains as well. What is better in todays current market for the average homeowner? Wind or Solar Power?
For now, I wanted to post a bunch of articles that interested me in the past and combine them into one collaboration for future information withdrawl. I might go onto tangents as I go and try to find myself in the steemit community.
