Today I splurged and bought a dozen bottles of great wine at close out prices. Each year, just prior to a reset of our wine dept., slower selling wines are marked down over several weeks until they are practically giving them away. That, my friends, is the time to buy in bulk and make a killing!
Just because the wine is a slower seller doesn't mean it isn't quality juice!
I haven't had a bad bottle of Coppola yet, and this Cabernet Sauvignon is right on the money. With good tannins, and a bold black raspberry, blueberry and plum flavor, this wine a "must see" in your glass!
This series of Coppola wines sports a movie themed label, a fun diversion from the rather predictably boring labels many wines are forced to wear. Featuring King Kong, a classic Coppola film, this vintage is as strong and forceful as the Grand Gorilla, himself.
From the Winery: "Like the name suggests, King Kong Cabernet offers big, bold flavors and a dramatic finish. This is a particularly powerful wine. Rugged tannin structure and fragrant oak frames luscious flavors of black raspberries, blueberries and plums that are woven between notes of tobacco, incense, and baking spices. There is intensity to the fruit with vivid aromas and a generous, velvety palate that is weighted and complex as a result of this impressive vintage. The hint of floral and graphite that unfurls on the finish makes this Cabernet even more enticing.
Enjoy your evening, and drink wine!
