Road Trip, Day 6: Seal Breeze Cellars!
On day 6 of our road trip, we decided to stay at Doringbaai and explore the nearby towns. On our exploration trip we stumbled onto the Seal Breeze Cellar.
The farm is situated in the Olifants River valley and only produce 3 ton of grapes per cultivar.
All their wines are aged in French or American Oak Barrels.
The wine maker, Joan Wiggens only started to make wine at the age of 51, after a career change.
This is their very small cellar tasting room, just see how dusty it is!!
On the one wall there are quite a number of photos of awards this talented wine maker has won!! This is quite an achievement.
The proof is in the pudding and we tasted some of their wines and found it to be great. We bought quite a number of their wines to take home. One can also buy online and have it couriered to your home. These wines are not sold in any shops and can only be obtained from the cellar.
I hope you enjoyed the post and that you have a wonderful day.
