Christmas festivities provide a great opportunity to roll out some decent vino - here are two highlights so far:
The Wine Society's Hermitage 2014
We were looking for a decent white wine to wash down with some pate as a starter....
Introducing The Wine Society's Hermitage Exhibition 2014 white wine and what a stonker!
Plenty of honey, peach and rich luscious fruits. Absolutely beautiful!
Chateau Coutet St Emilion Grand Cru 2014
Now what can compete with the richness of a roasted goose with all the trimmings?
We needed a red that could pack a punch and this Chateau Coutet stepped up to the mark. It needed decanting to properly release the flavours but this was silky smooth with vanilla tones. A stunner of a red.
Definitely not "everyday" wines, but it's good to find a special occasion to crack open these decadent treats!
