HOW ARE YOU STEEMATES?
Sometimes, there are decisions in life that we really want like trading places with another person because of envy, dissatisfied, and oddities in life without realizing the outcome.
Teenager nowadays wants to read from the internet or magazines engrossed in one of the latest sensational, unending issues, and sensually appealing in which these people makes us downhearted. They are called losers that we do not want them as our role models. ”It’s so depressing!” But maybe, it’s because those people have the WRONG VALUES in life.
Why would we want to read inappropriate materials that makes us feel depressed?
As a teenager or an adult, we are old enough to make decisions about what we read because we can figure out things for ourselves even though our parents doesn’t want to. We all want to be noticed and to feel loved and some does it vicariously through the people they read about in those magazines, but success is not being well known or having a picture in a magazine. Well, sometimes we struggle with authority and being curious about life. We want to obey our parents but we also want to find out some things.
For example, we can eat our meals without spices, but with proper amounts of salt and seasoning, the meal tastes a lot more pleasing. Like reading material is a sort of spices in our lives. Some reading enriches the flavor of life; some of it gives life a negative flavor that drove us away.
How can parents know what is good or bad for us?
Sometimes parents can’t say exactly why something is not good for us, but they do understand that happiness is not determined by how much we satisfy our curiosity about things or people. They advise us to avoid certain kinds of reading material because they know it would season us with a bad flavor. Our parents realize that happiness is related to how we apply God’s principles, including parental authority over us.
What does God want us to know?
God’s way is the only way to understand life but some teens fail to realize that happiness begins with having Jesus Christ and knowing that He loves us and cares for our well-being. God wants us to learn the true meaning of love, establish a family, take care of social conditions, and know about His world. God wants us to think Godly thoughts and to be obedient to authority. He wants us also to walk with Him . . . to fellowship with Him in purity, righteousness, and virtue.
To be successful and happy is to obey God’s principles about relationships, homes, worship, business, or whatever aspect of life we experience.
